R. Christine Hershey selected for L.A. County Small Business Commission by the Board of Supervisors

HCC Founder and President R. Christine Hershey was nominated this month to the Small Business Commission of Los Angeles County by newly-elected Supervisor Sheila Kuehl and approved by the Board of Supervisors. Chris was selected for her progressive perspective on business, her experience working with other women-led businesses in Southern California, and her success as a small business owner who has survived and thrived through many business cycles for 37 years.

Chris is honored to be nominated by her longtime friend and colleague, Sheila Kuehl, who recently won a competitive battle to represent the Third District, which covers West Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley. Supervisor Kuehl, a veteran of the California State Senate and State Assembly, is known for getting more bipartisan bills passed than any other elected official. She is the first woman in California history to serve as speaker pro tempore of the Assembly. She is also the first openly gay or lesbian person to be elected to the California Legislature.

Her experience in the corporate sectors includes such Fortune 500 companies as Disney, Wells Fargo, and AT&T, and she has received many business honors over the years. She is Founder of Hershey Cause Communications, a mission-driven organization and hybrid social venture united under one mission: to communicate for good and elevate the nonprofit sector through best practices, tools and training.
