Commemorating 40 Years of Impact - Cause Communications

On October 17, 2017, the County of Los Angeles Board of Supervisors recognized R. Christine (Chris) Hershey and Cause Communications in a special ceremony. Third District Supervisor Sheila Kuehl presented Chris with a scroll honoring “40 years of leadership.” We were humbled and grateful to receive this recognition, which will serve as motivation for many more years of using communications to create, accelerate, and amplify social change. We’re pleased to share a few photos from the day, plus the text of the commemorative scroll.

WHEREAS, R. Christine Hershey founded Cause Communications in 1977 to help nonprofits, foundations, government agencies, and businesses harness the power of strategic communications and design toward achieving a greater positive effect in Los Angeles County; and

WHEREAS, she has served as an instrumental and pioneering connector of causes and communities within the County, resulting in local action that reflects and impacts the most pressing global issues of the day; and

WHEREAS, she has spurred advancements and transformation across a variety of civic issue-areas, including LGBTQ rights, the environment, early childhood education, healthcare, and the cultivation of a strong small business community; and

WHEREAS, her efforts have collectively contributed to making Los Angeles County a more open, inclusive, safe, and dynamic place:

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles hereby congratulates, commends, and sincerely thanks R. Christine Hershey and Cause Communications for 40 years of leadership using communications for good, and extends best wishes for continued groundbreaking success.
