HCC Joins White House Summit on Early Education

HCC Founder and President Chris Hershey last month attended the White House Summit on Early Education in December, accompanied by LAUP CEO, Dr. Celia Ayala. Because of their joint leadership behind access to quality early education, they both had the privilege of being part of the small group invited to hear President Obama deliver remarks at the White House, during which he allocated grant money to states and communities working in this space.

“We were thrilled to hear that organizations in Los Angeles alone were allocated $9.5 million through the Early Head Start-Child Care Partnership and Early Head Start Expansion grants,” Chris Hershey said. The summit crystallized the President’s call to expand access to preschool to every child in America, especially those in high-need communities. HCC is honored to work with LAUP to promote this important cause and raise public awareness around why quality preschool should be available and accessible to every child and family.
